You may have noticed the statement in the banner of this website (right below my name). This statement above has become a defining concept in my life; a concept worth explaining.

As a Christian, and one who believes firmly in mans capacity to reason and free thought, I am forced to recognize the necessity of questions in life. 

A belief held within a bubble of sterile philosophy isn't a belief at all, it's a default setting. I want to exist in a community that challenges my beliefs, that forces me to contend with other philosophies, that demands that I know what I'm about, and why I'm doing what I do. Christ didn't exist in a world void of philosophical question, he existed contrary to popular culture. If Christ's mission involved being incarnate in a culture that demands his 'A game', then how could I ever be satisfied with anything less?

This statement doesn't negate the purpose of all Christians, as commissioned to all believers in Jesus (see Matthew 28:16-20), rather it gives it context. Making disciples, indeed being a disciple, requires that I live in a world of questions, ready to search out the answers.

I want to live in a world of questions.
